ESTELLA
Commission of a sweet little kitten with an amazing black, gray and white coat pattern. I spent lots of time on the detailing of the hair in the ears, the whiskers and the fluffy fur texture. The soft peach background offsets her color nicely.

This commission of a Himalayan beauty named Fendi was a joy because of the excellent reference photo provided by the client. They requested a customized background in blue to match her eyes.
PATIENCE & MISCHIEF

This whimsical piece features a dignified cat trying her best to tolerate the antics of a playful kitten. Background consists of muted shades that accentuate the coat colors of the two cats. A potted lavender plant (which is also suffering a bit from the kitten's activities) adds just the right amount of subtle color to the scene.

OLD SOULS

Best of friends meeting at the garden wall in early evening, while the light is still warm and glowing. Extra fine details in the old woman's face and hair, and the cat's face as well. The rest of the painting is softer and more loosely rendered to keep the attention on the faces of these two old friends' affectionate greeting.

This painting is from my 'Heroes & Patriotism' series. It depicts a powerful scene where a firefighter emerges from a burning structure cradling a terrified cat in his arms. In this piece, I wanted to impart the message that, to these 'heroes in helmets', even the smallest souls are worth risking danger to save. This painting honors all our firefighters who rush into the flames, when everyone else is running away.
